Your Community

Do you have Ideas to help your community prosper?

Project Focus and Criteria

We are initially seeking small-scale projects and ideas designed to test innovative concepts that promote social mobility, with a strong focus on community involvement and impact. Successful proposals are likely to align with one or more of the following priorities:

  • Renewable Energy or Efficiency:
Projects that generate renewable energy or heat, or contribute to energy conservation for local communities.
  • Learning and Skill Development:
Projects that enhance educational outcomes, provide new skills, or share knowledge, especially for young people aged 18-30.
  • Community Engagement:
Initiatives that involve or benefit the local community, particularly in areas with significant socioeconomic challenges (e.g., average income 59% below the poverty line, as identified by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation’s UK Poverty 2024 report).
  • Wealth Generation:
Efforts that create financial opportunities or improve economic outcomes for the community.
  • Intersectionality and Multiculturalism:
Ideas that promote inclusivity, equity, and cultural diversity.
  • Quick Implementation:
Projects that can be implemented within 18 months.
  • Existing Community Action:
Active community groups or champions already advocating for local needs, potentially with a Community Action Plan and local authority engagement.

Additional Requirements

  • Defined Outcomes:
Proposals must include clearly defined objectives with measurable outcomes that benefit the community.
  • Evaluation:
Outcomes will be assessed independently after project completion and compared with the original objectives to determine success. Projects that demonstrate successful outcomes will be considered for more substantial funding. A “fail-fast” principle will guide our approach.
  • Local Authority Support:
Evidence of local authority involvement and readiness to act is essential.

This framework ensures that projects foster resilience, inclusivity, and meaningful impact in disadvantaged communities.
